Someone told me to:
Boot your PC from your Windows XP CD. Then when it asks what type of install you want, select "Repair Existing Instalation". This should fix it. BUT, my CD drive is broken.
What do I do??

if you have some way to copy the CD contents into a usb, then use a usb instead. Configure your pc to boot from the usb port (the procedure depends on the model of your CPU, but the most common way is to start your CPU and press "delete" repeatedly until a window appears. follow the headings and you will come to the "boot from" part or something similar. the best way is to check your hardware documentation). Then boot from your usb. I'm not really sure but it somehow worked for me.
