it had like an 1.6ish gigaherts, XP. I got it around 2 years used, but the former owners never used it. Well, it was working great!!! My house has wireless internet and that works fine. Today I got a chip thing that allows my computor to get internet. It says that I have full bars (the internet has great signal )- but it is frushratingly slow! Idk what I can do to make it go faster, or make it the same speed as before. I CAN'T STAND THE SLOWNESS HELP!

has the router been damaged?
Try this
Start -> Run -> cmd -> hit enter
Then type
ipconfig /release
(PRESS THE ENTER KEY)
then type
ipconfig /renew
if that doesnt work there is something wrong with your hardware
