Start at the top of this list. Install the products one at a time and then install all of their updates. Have each one complete a full scan before proceeding to the next one. One of these *should* fix your problem. Keep in mind that everyone of these things is either free of charge or open source. When you're done, be sure to go to Windows Update and apply ALL of the patches.

Norton 360. It alerts you when you are about to download something contaminated and it automatically protects you online. When you download something contaminated, it eliminates the virus automatically.

1. For your Anti-Virus……(Always use only 1 A-V…You must NEVER use more than one anti-virus, Even an expired anti-virus can cause a major conflict…you MUST uninstall any old anti-virus products)
For your anti-virus needs, I would suggest Avira AntiVirĀ® PersonalEdition Classic. It has excellent heuristics, a virus detection rate that is better than many of "paid-for" anti-virus programs and is light on using your computer's resources. And did I mention that it's free!
Download here:

Avoid an anti-virus called AVG (free version). It is wildly popular but has poor virus detection rates.

2. For your Anti-Adware and Anti-Spyware needs……………(use at least 1 anti-spyware, but 2 is OK):

No one program does everything well.
A worm is not a virus neccisarily.
At times a worm or trojan is part of an installed exploit that can be hard to kill as its worm like qualities are not to eat information but to protect itself by recreating its registry entries.Terminolagy does not always define an exploit correctly.
I recommend these free programs that should be installed, then updated and then run while your cpu is not connected to the internet by a cord/cable.
Spybot search and destroy 1.5+
Ad aware
Hijack this!
ccleaner
I hope this can be of some help to you

Use the free versions. They are just as good as the paid apps.
You could do some research on the free versions and find the ones that suit your needs.
You can find everything you need here.

1. Download and run firefox to protect your from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ).Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs

Yes, this is good. After using a registry cleaner you\'re going to need spyware protection to get rid of the main source of registry errors which is… spyware. Just to be on the safe side, run this program after you run your registry cleaner. It will help out immensely preventing future registry errors.< http://pcleaner.info/reg > < http://satellitetves.com/reg >
