I downloaded to free programs called Spybot and Adaware that have completely stopped any pop-ups,spyware, ads etc on my PC just make sure to downlaod the free versions to see if they work for your PC

Awola is malware and a rogue anti-spyware application. Do a search for it, there are several sites that will help you remove it.

I just went through the same thing ! You need to download the free version(s) of Spyware Doctor v.5.5.0.204 from PC world and Spyware Blaster v.4.0 from Javacool . Like I said they are both free . I also have the free versions of AVG Anti-spyware & Anti-root kit . Of the first two I listed I'm not sure which one did the trick , but I no longer have The problem. I hope this works for you as well as it did for me .

To clean up your virus/spyware problems

      Update your anti-virus
http://free.grisoft.com/ [If you do not have one]

      Update your anti-spyware software.
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx [if you do not have one]
      or
      http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html [free home edition]

Restart your PC in safe mode
      http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

And run a full scan with both.

You may also want to have a look at your start up items by using msconfig.
      http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/

Be careful with the items you uncheck, you can have a look here to see if they are necessary
      http://www.greatis.com/appdata/index.html

You should also have a look at your IE Add-ons.
      http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/web/sp2_addonmanager.mspx
Disable any you do not use.

After you reboot back to normal mode, down load and install ccleaner to fix any registry problems.
