I need help in downgrading from Vista to XP

August 9th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I’m pretty fed up with vista and I want to go back to XP. I always get these blue screens with vista, and it’s not my hardware or anything because I ran tests on them and they all passed. I have a Inspiron 1420 and I went to the dell website and it said it had drivers for windows XP but I;m still not sure if XP does work on the inspiron 1420. So can anyone who knows a lot about computers (because I don’t) tell me if XP works with my computer and how to get rid of vista completley and install XP? I have vista home premium by the way, if that helps in any way.
Of course I'll need a CD. I know I;m going to have to buy a copy of XP. I just need to know how to install after I buy and if XP even works on my computer.

No, you will need a original CD-ROM to reinstall from vista to XP.

well your going to have to get your hands on a copy of Windows XP from http://www.newegg.com its like $89.99 with service pack 3. as far as if your laptop will work with XP, of course it will. dell even has all the drivers on their website for XP and Vista so you should have no problems. I dont believe it will be free to downgrade to XP so your going to have to buy the Windows. there are ther ways around that but you have to find that elsewhere because its not a discussion you can have here. anyone if u need some more help, please let me know, im on AIM, yahoo like all the time

heres site where u can get XP drivers!
