My computer came installed with the norton internet security and with 1 month of service which expired quickly. Recently I have been having trouble with trojans so i bought an anti virus and firewall program. To install it it says to remove the norton and so i did. Then i restarted the computer and started to install the new antivirus and restarted again. Then when it came back on nothing was installed. So i tried it again and it said to remove Norton. So i went to uninstall it again, but it says: Error The specified module could not be found. So if any one could help me remove this program or make it work I would greatly appreciate it.

Depends on the version of NIS, you could
download ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/linked_files/tsgen/SymNRT.exe
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Restart the computer if asked.
5. Then delete the SymNRT.exe tool from your desktop.
6. Open the Program Files folder on your local disk ( normally C: )
7. Find and delete the following folders (if present):
* Norton AntiVirus
* Norton Internet Security
* Norton SystemWorks
* Norton Personal Firewall

norton is almost a virus itself, it puts so many 'hooks' in your registry it's almost impossible to remove. They have a special removal tool to get rid of norton, try that.

Go to Start, click Search, Type in Norton, and delete all traces of it when all the results come up. Then delete them from the recycle bin too.!.
