This morning I turned on my computer to a weird warning WINDOWS SECURITY ALLERT, I had a feeling it was not from windows, so I pressed the X in the right hand corner. It just kept coming back up. Then, a little bit later (5-10min) a SPYWARE ALERT came up. I cannot click the X on this one. Only OK or CANCEL
When I press CANCEL, it goes away but just comes back every 5 minutes. After all of this I decided to run my Spyware program I have – Webroot Spy Sweeper –
I deleted the items it found. I restarted the computer and it was worse now. I also ran Mcafee it found nothing. There are random Security warnings and alerts from Internet E. popping up. And when I press cancel they automatically go on IE and start a sweep or check on my computer. I wrote everything in the allerts if that will help. I have more going on than just this too. it sounds like a smitfraud infection…..if i were u i would go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ and go to forums then malware removal and hijackthis logs it is free and they r pros u will get alot of reaponses here to do tis and that and y they are valid by the time u filter thru it all and do all of it u still may b infected…i wouldn'r advise running smitfraud fix of vundo fix w/out a professional telling u to do that and under their guidance ur computer will b clean and u will b happy again
these infections root themselves in deeply and its not always as easy as run this program…goodluck
