try to visit this page and read it well. there are a lot of ways on how to get rid of Antivirus XP 2008 http://www.spywareremove.com/removeAntivirusXP2008.html

*next time, i advice you not to download or use free versions on the web/net as most of them are bundled with problems. spending an amount of money is a better way than for free that you will have to face difficult problems. so far, i got no problems about PC as i do always purchase programs/software esp for PC protection.

You don't say specifically what your problem is but I can think of two things that could be wrong so I'll cover those.

One is that the files aren't there. Further down in that question, someone comments that the files may not be the names that are given but just to look for something nonsensical that wasn't there before.

The other possibility is that you can't see any files like that, which could be because system or hidden files may not be showing. Do this and put it back the way it was after you deal with the virus:

      Double-click My Computer.
Choose Tools –> Folder Options from the menu toolbar.
      Click the View tab.
Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is ticked.
Make sure that "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" is unticked.
      Okay these changes.

It can be helpful when dealing with viruses to untick this one too:
"Hide file extensions for known file types"
It makes it easier to make sure you delete the correct files. For example, you might have cmd.com and cmd.exe and one is a virus and one isn't.

      EDIT:
In response to ~oOo~ saying not to use free security software, I just thought I'd drop in a few comments.

There is plenty of reputable free software, some of which is better than pay stuff. Everything recommended here so far is safe and reputable.

Other respected, trusted softwares include AVG, Avira, Avast, Spybot, Ad-aware from Lavasoft (NOT Adware, no hyphen and 2 letter A's), Ccleaner, Zone Alarm Free (firewall), Kerio Personal Firewall, and a host of others. The problem often comes up when a rogue program name is similar to something reputable, such as Ad-aware and Adware.

Respected sites for downloads and reviews include Daniweb, Major Geeks, Bleeping Computer, Ask Leo, and many others often mentioned in Yahoo Answers.

      install
      avast
      http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
      SUPERAntiSpyware
      http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html
      Comodo Firewall
      http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

AVAST you need to update then do a boot scan to kill the virus
so when they ask for boot scan let it scan if got virus just follow what been listed delete etc

all of the above are free and good in blocking threats and killing threats
