every time i right-click a folder or just about anything i get this message saying
"please wait while windows configures symantec anti virus"
then another window pops up containing: the feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.
insert the ’symantec AntiVirus’ disk and click ok"
and if i click cancel i get "error 1706.No valid source could be found for product Symantec AntiVirus. the Windows installer cannot continue."
then i see the menu that pops up when i press right click on an icon
this also happens when i try to delete something
PS: i deleted the antivirus without using the add or remove programs because when i tried it with it it gave me an error and i had to restart my computer (i tried it several times)
pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase help i need to get rid of symantec

go to the web site of the anti-virus program that you deleted and find a uninstaller, it will get rid of all the files for that program
