I had my coputer worked on and the tech said that the AVG software had been installed. I can't find it anyplace in my computer can someone please tell me where to look? Also, if you have the time help me with this. The tech who installed the AVG said that he didn't charge me for it and the few times I have questioned him about it, for say, lowering it to recieve downloads I want and it asks to do that before downloading, he always says that it won't interfere with that download and so on. Basically I think that maybe a couple of things might be happening. He forgot to install the software and is just telling me he did. That is why there is no charge for it on the bill. Or, he stole it, pirated it, whatever and put it on my computer. I just want to be sure that I have anti-virus protection running, and my windows program says it doesn't detect all anti-virus software, so I don't know if I'm protected or not. I don't want to get the guy in trouble, but I also don't want to steal.

Wait.
Did you BUY the AVG????
Typically, AVG is free. So piracy is not a real problem.
If you cannot find AVG on your computer, then re-download it an re-install it. It is not hard.
Aside from AVG, I recommend:
http://www.avast.com - free antivirus
http://www.lavasoftusa.com - Adaware Free Edition. (anti-spyware)
http://www.microsoft.com - Microsoft Windows Defender (anti-spyware)
Use only ONE antivirus at a time, but use a couple of anti-spyware.
