When my family sends me pictures in their email attachments a box pops up that says: What should Firefox do with this file? So I click Browse & it shows I can open the file in Internet Explorer, so I click on Browse again & open with Firefox, I check the box that says: Do this automatically for files like this from now on & I click okay & the picture pops up in a new tab, then when I go to open the next picture, I have to go through all the steps again. Isn’t there a way to set it up so email attachments automatically open in a new tab without having to go through all those steps every time?
I opened IE7, I went to Tools, but I don't see Folder Options, am I missing a step?

Do you have Skype installed? If so, this can be a problem with the Skype plugin for Firefox. I always remove the Skype plugin because I dont’ need it in Firefox, so I’ve never had this problem.
If you don’t have the Skype plugin installed, then try the following:
1. Open up Windows Explorer
2. Pick “Tools” then “FOlder options”
3. From here, pick “file types”
4. FInd “JPEG image “in the list (you’ll need to do this for JPE, JPG, JPEG, PNG and GIF I think)
5. Click on “Change”
6. From the list, pick “Mozilla Firefox”.
That might just solve it. In addition it will make images from the file system open in Firefox as well.
