….well, in Performance and tools,it says AVG Resident Shield Service is causing Windows to start slow. It gives me the file name:avgrsx.exe, but when I click on the Start icon on the bottom left and search ‘avgrsx.exe’, it doesnt show any matches. How can I find this file and get rid of it?
It gives me these options: help, remove from list and ‘ok’….removing it from the list wont get rid of the file, will it. It will just not show it anymore, right?
Again…I want everything from AVG to be removed from my pc. Tell me how to locate this file and get rid of it. Thanks.
Oh,and another thing. At the bottom of the box under ‘Help, Remove from List, Ok, it saids ‘View details in the event log”..I click on it and it doesnt open it. Any advice will be appreciated.
AVG is not in the Add or Remove Programs.

First: Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. Find AVG and delete.
Second: Start, All Prograns, Accessories, Windows Explorer, find C: Programs. Find AVG and delete the folder.
That should remove any trace of AVG.

OK. No problem. Then just remove it from the Programs folder. If that doesn't eliminate it, I would suspect a virus.
