I want to go back to Internet Explorer 7?

September 10th, 2008 · 6 Comments

I downloaded IE beta 8 yesterday and I hate it.

I want to download IE7 again but when I go to the microsoft site, it says my computer already has IE7 running on vista?

But I don’t..I’m using IE beta 8.
When I go to programs & features, there’s no Internet Explorer to uninstall.

How can I download IE7 for vVsta again?
for Vista* again.

Just go into the add and remove in control panels and remove windows Internet Explorer 8? it should revert back to the Internet Explorer 7.

If you fear anything my go wrong, try downloading a copy of Internet Explorer 7; maybe you’ll need it, maybe you won’t, most likely you really won’t.

The big QUESTION is did you UNINSTALL IE 7 before you Installed IE Beta 8. I went through the exact same thing and ended up keeping the Beta 8 version because after researching I realized that I had completely uninstalled the IE 7 (the computer prompted me to and of course I followed the instructions). Go to your Control Panel and see if IE 7 is still there….if it is uninstall IE 8 Beta and then reinstall IE 7 and you should be fine. If IE 7 isn’t there then you did uninstall it completely and will have to get a copy from someone and load it. Uninstall IE 8 Beta, reinstall IE 7 and you’ll be fine. It sounds complicated but it’s just a matter if you completely wiped it off your hard drive or not. Good luck!!!
      Peace & Love :)

apparently IE8 is not a programme on VISTA, but is run as an UPDATE.. hence, there is no listing in programmes menu.. I am trying to source a IE7 version for my VISTA as IE8 is USELESS!
      GOOD LUCK PEOPLE!
