I want to uninstall games (such as Grand Theft Auto III) on my computer because they take up a lot of space, but I don't want to lose all the progress I've made in the game. Is it possible to keep my progress if I decide to reinstall the game at a later date? If so, which files do I need to save? I also wish to do this for Microsoft Age of Empires III. Thanks for your help!

Only thing I can think of is to copy your save game to a floppy or another directory.
It may also give you the option if you want to delete saved games or not.

i do believe with the age of empires series when you uninstall it gives the option to remove all files and folders that use AOE 3 select "No" failing that find the AOE files in your drive and copy the saved files and campaigns then store on disc.

Usually when you uninstall software, it will ask you if you want to keep your saved games. That way, if you install it again, your saved games will still be there. Otherwise, you can just find the save files in your game directory and copy them to another folder.

usually games will have an option of not deleting saved games but if they dont you can go to C; Program files/"your game"/
somewhere there will be a folder with saved games or database on it , you must copy that to a flash drive
when you reinstall it just copy it back

Check where the game is saving if there is a path name look at where it is, if it just says saving then have a look at your folders it should say save, if not you'll just have to look in some other folders, or failing that try to see if you can save to your desired location, like memory pen, or destination on your c:. hope this helps
