If I uninstall malwarebytes anti malware, will my spyware come back?

November 21st, 2008 · 6 Comments

I recently caught the antispyware xp2009 and removed it with malwarebytes anti-malware. I then deleted the infected files after a few weeks. Is it safe to uninstall the program? I am afraid that the spyware will come back.

Just keep Anti-Malware on your PC. It isn’t hurting anything, it can only help if you need to scan again.

You should keep them and run them at least every 2 weeks.
It`s also good to have a good program to warn of risky websites.

Why would you want to remove the program which dealt with your problem when many other programs didn't? Can't you see the logic of keeping it on your desktop instead of removing it? What would happen the next time, you got a rogue infection again, it may not be plain sailing to try and acquire Malwarebytes again. What is more, spend a few quids on it and you will get real-time protection. To which your anti-spyware or antivirus or internet security failed to prevent the malware entering in the first place.

      Very likely.

Malwarebytes is a very good program.

      Also, I use counterspy.

once your computer is clean of spyware or viruses, thats done withm but as soon as you go online, you will eventually go to sites with more spyware/ malware,
~so it would be good to have spyware remove handy, and always have antivirus scan running while online,

Uninstalling it won’t bring the crap back, but it’s likely to come back anyway unless you increase your security and watch your surfing habits (no criticism intended). Best idea is to keep MBAM, update and run it once a week. That really is the best thing to do. Other than buying it, which is an even better idea as you’ll then have real-time protection. But the free version is just fine.
