I have a Netgear wireless network card in my oldish laptop. I have used this to connect to my home wireless network using a cheap router without problems for many months. I have now received delivery of a BT Homehub and have nothing but problems since. It would appear that the wireless connection software supplied by BT is clashing with the Netgear smartwizard. I know this because if I close the smartwizard software the connection is much more robust. If I leave Netgear open then whilst the laptop states it is connected to the Homehub router there is no usable connection. This happens after being online for 5 minutes or so, every time! So my question is if I uninstall the Netgear Smartwizard utility, so only having the BT proprietary connection software, will the Netgear network card still work? Obviously I don't want to experiment as if this action disables the card then I have no way of connecting to the network.
