I doubt it. He probably would have moved up to the top 5 world rankings anyway. Meaning Muhammad Ali would have to defend his title against him as he must fight the top contenders in the world rankings, which he always did aswell.

If is the real question here. I don’t think on his best day that Spinks could have beaten Ken Norton to begin with and even if he would have, would have been easily beaten by Larry Holmes who was superior in every aspect.
