If you have an Windows XP computer, can you upgrade it to vista anytime you want?

i’m building a computer, with pretty good specs. should i get Vista or XP?
specs are:
Core 2 duo
4 GB memory
GeForce 9600 GT graphics
64-bit

      If you got a good amount of memory and processing power go ahead with vista, it would be nice to know the specs though.

      You need at least Core Duo 1GHz and 1 gig DDR2 and 128 MB Video Ram to make the most out of Vista, if you have that then by all means upgrade to Vista.

      Yep pretty much try downloading windows vista upgrade advisor from here- http://tinyurl.com/63t642 and that will tell you if your computer wil work with vista and the best one to choose.

      do with windows xp since vista recquires very high specifications to run therfore your machine works slowly.

      that’ll work with vista, i’ve seen newer laptops/pc from stores that ship with vista that can barely run with the OS. i preferbly like XP. but those specs are fine.
