Im trying to find a free yet dependable antivirus program to download that also includes spyware protection and removal or anything else i may need for protecting my computer. Does anyone have any advise? Thank you!!!

If you want a free anti-virus I recommend in order of popularity, but please choose the right one for you (install only one):
1. AVG Free
a. A simple interface (easier to use than Avast! and Avira)
b. Can detect about 82.82% of viruses
Cons: low virus detection
2. Avast!
a. Real-time protection
b. It has an option to delete a virus once found
c. Can detect about 87.46% of viruses.
Cons: Too many icons and confusing user interface
3. Avira AntiVir
a. It can detect malware better than Avast and AVG
b. It's cute umbrella icon
c. Can detect about 94.26% of viruses
Cons: A very sluggish update
If you also want free anti-spyware and I would recommend getting Spybot Search and Destroy and SUPERAntiSpyware.
I also strongly recommend using FireFox, it's a far better and safer alternative to Internet Explorer. If you add-on McAfee SiteAdvisor, it will warn you of potentially harmful sites. I also recommend CCleaner which is a free system optimization and privacy tool.

Well it seems like Sauel Adams done a very good job in listing out the free programs.
But the best program you can get which contains real time protection (constantly scans your computerwithout slowing it down) and one of the best ‘malacious finders’ ive ever seen is ad-aware… ad-aware isnt specifically free but it’s the only thing you will need to keep bad stuff off your computer. you can visit this website for a free version of it (it’s a torrent) http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4395063/Ad-Aware_2008_Pro_7.1.0.10_inc_License which is completly free.
If you like what you see, you need a torrent downloader first, utorrent is the best http://www.utorrent.com.
