I have used a few different malware and spyware removers. Nothing has worked. I have tryed to remove it manually but I can't find half or less of the files, .dll etc. to delete. Does someone have any suggestions to removing Vista Antivirus 2008 when running Windows Vista? Thank you in advance.

"Vista Antivirus 2008 is a new rogue anti-spyware program from the same family as Windows Antivirus 2008, Antivirus 2008, and System Antivirus 2008. When installed, Vista Antivirus 2008 will automatically scan your computer and state you have a variety of security risks that cannot be removed unless you first purchase the software."
Scroll down to "Automated Removal Instructions for Vista Antivirus 2008 using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:" and it's free to use. NOTE: Perhaps you already tried using MBAM, but did you close all applications and windows first before running the program?

All of these are specialised removal tools for this type of fake rogue advertising (Zlob/Smitfraud infections.).

After having success with one of the above, to clean-up any remaining infection traces, I suggest scan for trojans, and spyware and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus. Press "Scan online" on the right.

Good luck.

I suggest to do it manually by using registry editor. (Start–run–regedit) Find and delete all antivirus2008 registry.
after that you have to run your windows in safemode (press f8 before windows logo appears during startup) in order to delete the remaining folder/files which located in program files directory since it cannot delete while windows is running in normal way
