I’m using Yahoo Mail and Norton Anti-Virus is scanning my attachments, this is a recent problem!!?

I took off Norton Anti-Virus long ago and I use Avast now, I know it works better than Norton!! How can I get rid of Norton, I've checked all my programs and there is'nt any Norton showing in my programs!! Just can't usnderstand why this is happening now?? Can anyone help me????
