In windows XP professional ?

How do you turn on the sound to the modem to hear it dialing out? ( I dont want to turn up the volume that is the option.) I want to turn on the sound so I can hear it dial out. Thanks.
Turning up the volume in control panel,phone,volume increase doesnt give me any sound at all.
It used to work by sound but the c: drive went kapoot installed a new one.

      Normally under modem properties, but some card doesnt allow sound so turning on/off makes no difference

      go to Start > Settings > Network Settings.

      you should see your dial up account listed

      right click and choose Properties

      on General tab, next to the model that you use, click Configure.
      the Modem configuration screen has an “enable modem speaker” option…check it “on”
