Internet Explorer 7 question - Can anyone help me?

July 30th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Ok, this is hard to explain, but I'll try my best.
Here's the order that it happens.

1) I'm on a website in Internet Explorer 7
2) I click on a link to another website
3) A new window w/ the website comes up
4) When I am done in the website that I clicked the link to get to, BOTH windows close.

I only want the window that I clicked on to close. Why do they both close???

Somebody PLEASE HELP!! This is really getting annoying and I don't know how to fix it.

It sounds like the second website is showing in a second TAB, not a second BROWSER WINDOW. You must be closing the single Browser Window, rather than the tab for the second.

Here is Microsoft's info on this:
      http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/tour/tabs/
Be sure to take the tour : )

possible because there is a spyware or virus inserted into your pc. Scan your computer for any virus or spyware/ malware. Or reinstall the internet explorer.

you need to click the X on the TAB of the window you want to close, the tabs are right below the address bar

there is an x on each tab. if you only want to close that tab, click the x on the tab. if you do the x in the top right hand corner, it closes all of the windows.
