Internet Explorer doesn’t start, but IE processes show up on task manager?

For some reason when i try to click on internet explorer nothing happens, i have to try many times and finally Internet explorer shows up, but I open task manager processes and there are many IE processes already running, but only one is open. what’s wrong?

      go to run and type

      sfc /scannow

      you may need a windows cd. this command will check for corrupted / maliciously modified / missing system files and replace them with the correct ones. This should fix your problem, as it siunds to me like IE6 got corrupted

      let it run and then reboot. it wont tell you the results.
