why is it doing that?….i tried to download a free call of duty 2 demo from this website…. http://www.bigdownload.com/games/call-of-duty-2/pc/ and it stopped working and i couldnt download it! 
and also..ever since i downloaded yahoo messanger….when i try and close a window…internet explorer stops working and restarts

recommend you switch to another web browser.
mozilla firefox3 is definitely stable and compatible with a lot of things.
if not, you can try Apple's Safari for the PC version, works great as well.

i have the same problem but now it has gotten to firefox also so i let go fire fox i've not tried safari but i heard it was good you can always delete it and redownload it to.

If you reload Explorer that should fix that too!
