I am using XP and compaq presario 2100. I recently put a wireless router onto my cable modem, along with a wireless adapter card into the laptop. I had an internet connect for a couple of days, and then apparently changed a setting, and now I can't get on the internet. No clue what I did to change it, but hoping one of you brilliant tech people out there can help me.
Outlook express will not open either (not showing connecting). I knew it would not work with the wireless (didn't a couple of days ago), but also would not work when I plugged the cable in. I am speculating that maybe the wireless has something to do with this, but maybe not. My AVG virus protection won't connect either. I am showing a strong connection on wireless and know the cable connection works.
Asking question from a different computer (obviously). Thanks!!

This happened to me. I got a BT wireless box thing.
Usually you can be conected to the box but just not to the internet.
Try turning off the wireless box router at the wall for 60 seconds, then turning it back on.
Contact your ISP by phone and talk to them, they can be very helpfull.
Also try re-installin the box to your computer and do all the nesesary steps. Don't try skip any
