It just happened one day. I turned on my computer and internet explorer wouldn't load, but yahoo messenger works and I can go online through mozilla firefox.

It could be a few things:
Is the home page of Internet Explorer a website that is down? Can you reach that website with firefox?
Has someone changed the internet connections for Internet Explorer?

your firewall may have blocked acess to it so open the program, find something like "tasks and settings" then " advenced settings" then "firewall rules for specific programs" and then find internet explorer on the list and make sure the settings are set to "allow everything"

Hey i had the same problem last week so what i did was look online to see and turned out they now have a new Internet explore. So i downloaded it and now it works here is the link.
