I was just wondering if Adaware 2008 is an antivirus program so i can get AVG free edition to either keep or uninstall Adaware 2008. thx

No, Adaware 2008 is antispyware. If you want free antivirus get Avast 4.8

Keep it, it is anti-spyware, so installing AVG on your computer is OK. Now about Adaware '08. This is a very good anti-spyware software, however it cannot be a stand alone software for preventing spyware. Unlike an anti-virus, you can have as much anti-malware software as you see fit. Adaware 2008 is not enough. Each anti-spyware software will scan your computer in different ways, and will pick up different things. These are the ones that you will need in addition to Adaware 2008 in order to keep as much malware off of your computer as possible. All of these are free for personal use.

Get all of these, update them, and scan your computer. In the case of Spyware Blaster, just update, and "Enable All Protection"
Scan at least once a week with all of your new anti-spyware software. You will be amazed at what they pick up.

No,It removes adware for antivirus get Avast or AVG…also aone alarm and win patrol are kick ass firewalls…all are free at http://www.cnet.com
