Is AVG 7.5 better than Micro Trend 14? Can you have both and would you delete AVG to have Micro Trend 14?

May 18th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I currently have AVG 7.5 and Micro Trend 12. I'm trying to upgrade (and install a back up CD for PC-Cillin) to Micro Trend 14 and it's prompting me to "delete my AVG 7.5" program. Would you do that? And if not, how can I keep/have both AVG 7.5 & Micro Trend 14…or should I? Please help!!

You should remove one of the anti-virus programs. You never want to run 2 at the same time because they fight against each other. Personally as an IT and net tech I prefer AVG, it’s free and works great. Oh and did I mention it’s free. Plus from experience AVG doesn’t kill your computer like some of the others. Some of my friends have Micro Trend and it made the computer so slow and freeze up that they went back to avg. Hope this help!

Correct, I spoke with my friend and he informed me that the regular version of Micro Trend wasn’t to bad. It was when they switched to the Pro version that killed it.

It’s Trend Micro, not Micro Trend. I’m going to go install Antivirus Norton now.
