Is avg free good enough protection for my pc?

September 24th, 2008 · 3 Comments

my computer came with norton after that expired i got a free copy of mcaffe from my schools book store which they give to all students. all of a sudden it won’t load anything when i open it even after i uninstalled it and reinstalled it. what i was wondering is if the free version of avg is good enough or should i upgrade to the pay version. is there any other freeware that complements it well?

Avira is a far better freebie than AVG at catching malicious programs. Read report:

Yes I agree that Avira Antivir Free is better
      http://www.avira.com/en/downloads/
Your going to have to uninstall AVG free since you can only have one antivirus. Even if you get Avira or keep AVG your still not protected enough.
You may only have one antivirus and one antispyware
Get some antispyware(You can have more than one since they do not conflict)

Even with these scanners you can still get infected. You should use prevention software.
Switch to firefox from IE(if you didn’t already)

Use the MyWot addon(more accurate than mcafee siteadvisor)

      Get a free firewall
You may only have one firewall
