Is it ok to have both AVG and Avast? ?

November 17th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I have had AVG for a couple years now, and I love it. I also have Spybot Search&Destroy, and ZoneAlarm as well. My friend showed me Avast, so I decided to download it. I like Avast as well. I have heard that it isn’t good to have more than one anti-virus program though. So far, I haven’t had any noticeable problems. Everything seems to be running fine. I personally don’t know what to do. I was hoping some of you could tell me if I should keep one or the other, or possibly both. All help is greatly appreciated.

well.. sometimes antivirus picks up the other as trying to affect your files. but their not. if avast and AVG haven’t had any problems it means they know their both not viruses. more protection shouldn’t hurt. and i love zone alarm and AVG ^_^

You heard right. Lose one of them.

the rule of thumb is only 1 AV. your taking a chance running both and you could screw up your registry. I prefer Avast but the point is use 1 and only one
