I have a computer with vista business installed but I dont use it, I usually use my XP one. And today I got screwed because I got a pesky virus on my XP one and it wont go away. So I am wondering if I started using my vista comptuer, will that prevent viruses from downloading onto my computer without my permission.
so do the same viruses that affect XP affect vista. And are viruses a common problem on vista unlike MAC or Linux
I know that, but are the viruses common, like in macintosh nobody ever gets a virus. Is it the same story with vista or is vista the same story as XP.

Any Windows based system is prone to viral attacks and malware infections, largely because they are more widely used than Mac’s.
Use a good antivirus, which you can get for free, I recommend Avast anti-virus better definitions, anti-spyware and anti-rootkit built in, faster and more reliable:

Yes it is very possible if your Vista computer is networked to your infected XP computer.Just to let you know i had a trojan virus on my Vista computer last week but my McAfee Total Protection took care of it.
