it might work because they are produced by the same companies… but y would u want to install both? also they might "attack" each other which will slow down ur comp and/or make it crash more often

The Spyware Doctor trial version is a scan only… no removal, no protection.
Spyware Doctor Starter Edition is a *severely* crippled version of the paid version, lacking about 400,00 malware definitions (yes, 400,000) from the paid version.
So the "Trial" version is useless and the Starter Edition is crippled.
If you need a serious free antispyware, I would suggest Superantispyware. No trial, no BS watered-down version… it removes what the other antispyware don't.

I used Spyware Doctor for a short time. The full version that monitors your browser, etc. is a big time resource hog. Slows down the computer.
Super Antispyware is a better program that removes more types of malware and is free for home users. You will see often being recommended by the experts on the forums that specialize in removing malware.
The free version doesn't offer real time protection. If you are using the IE browser you should get Spybot S&D with the Teatimer enabled for realtime protection and it is free.
You will need to manually update both of the free programs above at least once a week.
