I have a Toshiba laptop with windows Vista. I'm not entirely sure what kind of Toshiba laptop it is, but it says 'Satellite' near my keypad. I want to know if it is safe to uninstall Haali Media Splitter. I'm pretty sure that my laptop has a virus (despite what my screwed up Norton Antivirus says) so I'm trying to delete programs that I downloaded from the internet. I have never seen Haali Media Splitter before and when i looked up its properties it said that Haali Media Splitter was created in July 2008, I got my laptop in 2007, so right now it's under suspicion. Because I sure don't remember downloading Haali Media Splitter at all.
Oh, and if you could tell me what Haali Media Splitter does also. In case it might be useful or something and I decide not to delete it.

sadly I’m in the same boat as you…………. i haven’t ever seen or heard of Halli media splitter before and suddenly today when I played a song in WMP it comes up in the task bar along with ffdshow audio decoder. Again I have never heard or seen of this program and it seems imposible to get rid of. some other threads have said that it has more than 30 redgistery entries and any time you get rid of them they just reinstall. Its not in add/remove prograns and isnt in program files. There doesn’t seem to be any fourm or thread or anything that tells you how to get rid of it and the official website refuses my connection so no help there either. Im desperate to get rid of this as people are calling it a “so far” harmless bit of malaware but you never know. I did find this however it suposedly uninstalls it but i’ve tried it and still no differace

Please someone give me an answer I hate a slow system and it has become noticiblaly laggy scince these 2 programs appeared please help
