Yes Mcafee is an anti virus and protects you from viruses.
It is one of the best around now days.

It’s an antivirus but it’s not quite good .try kaspersky Av or Internet security 2009

I can tell you one thing, NEVER HAVE MORE THAN ONE VIRUS SCANNER. They fight againest each other, and it makes your computer act up.

McaFee is good but it doesn’t give you a 100% Protection. You need an all in one. I have the Norton 360 and Internet Security Suite. It protects you from viruses, hackers, etc. I always recommend Internet protection because when you run a search online for a website it lets you know if you have a risk of viruses. It gives you a Green Check Mark or a Red X. This also helps reduce the risk of you downloading a Virus and makes it harder for Identity Theft.

Yes, McAfee does have an Anti-virus solution. Another commercial anti-virus is Norton 360. If you’re looking for something free to use, you might consider AVG:

Yes, it is antivirus, but its not quite good against trojans and worms.
I think, one of the best antivirus program is Nod32. its really helps, when you download lots of files.
