I have two programs that protect my computer. AVG free 8.0 is great, but it doesn't have firewall, that's why I have Spybot-search and destroy. Everytime i turn on my computer i have to wait like 10 minutes just so the Welcome screen can come on!! It's a pain in the neck. Can anyone help? It wasn't like this before or had those programs before either. I send it to someone and they rebooted it for me and they installed those programs for me and now it's slow, is it cuz of having two anti-virus program or was it the person who rebooted it because I thought reboot it will make it faster and turn it the way it use to be when i first bought it.

well it could be the programs, i used to have a virus protection that when i got the upgrade it would actually give me viruses. Or it could be too much for your computer to handle. Does your computer have enough space?

No, it is not. and the myth if two antivirus programs making somrthing slow is mostly bull.
run both, remove everything they find, and then you may want to think about removing a few things from your computer's start up list, and getting a bit more ram.

Depending on your computers age, you may not have enough RAM for it to run effectively. Also, you should only have anti-virus on a computer. I would recommend using Zone Alarm, this is a firewall that is not a anti-virus. I use this and it works well with my Avast Anti-virus. Get rid of one of your anti-virus's and check the RAM. If you are using more RAM and you computer has then it will be very slow.
I don't normally contradict another answer but two anti-virus's will most likely fight each other because they see each other as a virus. An anti-virus checks the computer, accessing files. When an anti-virus finds a program doing accessing files it will assume it is a virus and go after it. Now if both programs are doing this then both programs will go after each other creating a big problem for the computer.
