I have Norton on my computer and I think it is really slowing it down. How can I test (temporarily diconnect) the Norton to see how much faster it would be without it?
What are the best free alternatives to Norton if I get rid of it.
Thanks

Norton 2003-2008 were huge resource hogs that would slow down all but top-of-the-line computers.

To completely remove (uninstall) Norton products (which MUST be removed completely before installing any other A-V)…
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool from the Norton / Symantec website.
