Is spyware doctor with antivirus good enough ?

October 23rd, 2008 · 5 Comments

Hey there.
I am confused : what should Buy? :
-Norton internet security 2009
-Spyware doctor with anti-virus 6.0
-Trend micro internet security pro v2.0

I’m considering of buying spyware doctor with antivirus, but I’m worried about it’s virus protection (althought it’s spyware protection is superior)

Here are my PC specs:
-Intel core 2 quad @ 2.40 GHZ
-4GB RAM DDR3
-Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT 1 GB
-Microsoft windows vista ultimate sp1 (64-bit edition)
and please don't try to tell me to try installing other free security software I just wan one of these suggested
and yeah one more thing I dont want advices on removing norton because it's not slowing my system down so it's not causing troubles

There are two free programs that are really good.
      Spybot Search and Destory

      AVG free edition

Scads of malware in the wild, are utilizing Windows vulnerabilities producing misbehavior in browsers and systems, and defending Windows OS’s is not a single step or a single application: it’s layers of protection and procedures that must be done.
Norton is bloatware and causes about as many problems (& system slowdowns) as it solves.
Try Avast, or AVG, both freeware (although AVG is getting hard to download)
Spybot & Ad aware are both good.

Hello Mark, I have Norton Internet Security 2009 and it is awesome (my opinion) It offer all kind of protection. Here is a list of thing that it protects. ( Identity Protection, Antiphishing, Two-Way Firewall, Web site Authentication, Network Security, Antispam, Parental Control, Antivirus Protection, Antispyware protection, Botnet Protection, Browser Protection, Internet Worm Protection, Intrusion Protection, Pluse Updates, Recovery Tools, Rootkit Protection, SONAR-Behavioral Protection, and Norton- Protection System) I really like it and wouldn’t think about changing to any thing else. Most people here don’t recommend Norton’s because of one reason or another, but norton has came a very long way as for as improvement and to me it is just as good or even better than most security suits (I want you to know that this is my opinion) and my using norton for a number of years. The security window even have a CPU meter letting you see the usage of cpu’s and the measure of cpu that your computer is using, I think that this is very good and putting faith back with norton. Norton comes with a spyware program already included but you can also download and install any other spyware program. So the choice is left up to you (smile) Good Luck no matter what program you choose.
