I originally had Symantec Antivirus on my computer, and it found a file called dsound3dd.dll that it says is a virus, and a "downloader" threat. Whatever that means. However, it could not remove the file. So I downloaded AVG, which says the file is not a threat? I would like to remove the file, either way, but access is denied
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

dsound3dd.dll is a virus file that can remove sound driver from your computer. AVG is waste full waste

I don't think it's a virus coz it stands for direct sound 3d, it's useful in games' sound managing. I've had the same problem with a keygen file.

Access is denied because the file is in use or you don't have proper permissions to remove it. Try disabling every addons that you currently using in internet explorer (tools menu -> manage addons -> enable or disable addons) then try to delete it. If you fail to delete reboot and before the windows logo appears press repeatedly F8. A screen should appear with some choices. Choose Safe mode and log in to the Administrator account. From there you can delete the file.
