This is really going to be 2-3 questions in one.
Is there a limit to how much ram a pc can have? i know about the limit of slots, but what if i was to put 4 2gb cards in. Is it’s limit something to do with it’s user system? How much could you put on a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit? And with windows ready boost, could i combine my ram with this. because i have tried it but it didn’t,t increase my over all RAM.
PS: I have 4 1gb cards in but my pc is only registering 3500mb of ram or something. Please help!
Well i hope you got that! If you could help me i would be really grate-full. Thanks!

Any 32 bit operating sysmte (XP or Vista 32) is capped at ~3.5 to 4GB due to the limitations of 32 bit addressing. You could go to 64 bit and add more RAM (if your motherboard allows for it).
Readyboost functions more as a cache than as RAM. In general, more readyboost is always better, but don't expect a miracle.

~3.5GB is the most a 32-bit OS can use. Also, Windows ReadyBoost doesn’t let you increase the size of your RAM, it just takes some strain off your hard drive.

all 32bit system cant handle anything over 4gb (3.12 actually)
64bit system are different:
Home basic = 8
Home premium = 16
Business, Enterprise and Ultimate = 128
and the mac daddy:
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 = 2TB’s (Thats Terabytes!!!)
readyboost is a joke in my opinion, there has never been a time when I have seen it work correctly

hi mack, home premium needs 2gb for vista home premium where as vista ultimate needs 4gb. had to get that out of the way to explain vista and how it relates to you picture a great big file cabinet that you can talk to people and watch movies or play music and all of the many things that you can do on the computer. but follow me out i am getting some value that you can grasp onto when you got home premium you were like me you heard a lot about it or a friend had it so it was something that i just had to have. but with one exception my friend is a computer repairman so he said it was a great windows but microsoft hasn’t got the bugs out of it yet. now that is a bandata to figure out what the heck he was talking about so i got my windows vista home premium and installed it three times before it dawned on me what the heck was going on and that was formating my hard drive each time vista is a window of it’s own. that means the reason my friend was having problems was he was using software for windows xp instead of vista software. good luck hope i was helpful to you
