Well guys I want to control my computer remotely from anywhere I want to. Basically Let say my desktop computer is at home and i want to control it from my university from laptop. I do have a router attached to my home computer and it is netgear and the model number is WNR834B v2. It will be great if it is possible.
I want to thanks in advance for the guys who might knows.

P.S.: I do not want to use Live Mesh, because it slows down all of my computers.

No.
But you can use a lot of alternative , such as VNC or Net Meeting etc..
