Is there way to uninstall windows media player from Vista Home Premium?

I know i should leave it on there but its not working so i want to uninstall it and install a different version. Its not listed in Uninstall Programs list.
Any help ?

      Microsoft is highly jerk on this matter. People have had to come up with long, complicated sequences of events to circumvent Microsoft’s somewhat insistent stance that you must keep it. I’ll skip those, and just suggest these:

      http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/9series/readme.aspx#removeplayer
      is your first line of attack. It does not mention Vista though, so start with the XP instructions.

      Failing that, http://messenger.jonathankay.com/allsteps.aspx?ID=7
      showa a very simple command to issue. However it has not been verified. It would be nice if someone with a test environment would confirm it.
