I'm having problems with avast, so I'm trying to untinstall it. When I do, a popup comes up and the entire background of my computer goes very very dark and it says, "An attempt to uninstall avast! has been received…" and then continues on (I cannot remember the rest of it). It basically is just saying that it may be malware trying to uninstall it, so only click continue if you are sure that YOU are the one uninstalling it, etc.
Is that normal? I hit "no" because I wasn't sure……
Thanks, I'll pick a best answer TODAY!

Security feature.
What problems are you having? Avast is the best anti-spyware and its scans have revealed things that Windows Live OneCare completely missed

It is to make sure that your not a malicious program trying to uninstall avast to mess up your computer. Pressing "yes" will continue with the uninstall, just make sure that you have another program to pick up the slack and keep your computer protected. try avg-free anti virus, google it.
hope that helped you <3

Yes, that's a protection feature. Avast is the best freebie available, don't make the mistake of using AVG instead. If you need it, there's an Avast Removal Tool (from Avast). read any instructions that go with it.
