Well first off we have had this old computer maybe since i don’t know 2001 and its a nice one.. its a Windows Xp made in 2000. Well we needed to have an anti virus software on the computer, so we decided to get Webroot and it’s a really good virus protector. But the problem is we bought “Webroot Spysweeper AntiVirus” And so we had installed it, and now about two months later we realize after amost 12 scans that it hasent been sweeping for viruses. So we relize that it would not let us click the option to scan for viruses or any of the enableing, Do you have to add anti virus to the subsciption? Is this software supposed to come with antivirus protection, or do you have to subscribe because we have gone to the page wear it asks you what you want to buy, so it says it is 10 dollars but I still want to know?
I know that but we bought it from best buy for 40$

for a computer that old, i'd either recommend NO antivirus or using norton 2k9 (nothing before that… too bloated)
or avg since its got the speed bar at the bottom. but it takes a lot of ram

Webroot is good - but kludgy - I used to use it, but use McAfee now. Enough of me, though. Sounds like either a) your subscription hasn't been registered, or b) the installation is possibly corrupted. Webroot's FAQ should point you towards one or the other conditions. If the installation is the culprit, and you have the installation disk, open up the control panel on the computer, click Add/Remove Programs. Once the program list populates, scroll down to the Webroot application and click Remove. Once the installation is complete, open up the registry editor to ensure that the uninstall was clean: click Start->Run, then type cmd and press <enter> or click <OK>. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then expand Software. Scroll down the list and look for a Webroot folder. If one exists, right mouse click and click Delete to remove it. Click the small X in the upper right corner of the window to close the registry editor. Reboot the machine to be safe. Once the computer comes back up, insert the installation disk in your CD/DVD drive, make certain that you register the application, then you should be good to go.
Good luck.
