ive got to problems with why does avg 7.5?? help?

why does avg 7.5 keep updating? it wont stop updateing and if i dont update it wont protect me its red in the corner of my avg it always wants to upload how do i stop it and is their another free no trial antivirus?? instead of avg well free full version like avg but better help me please
