I have Norton protection but it will expire in 3days, and I hear there is
a free download for Kasper Sky, antivirus protection, is this a good
protection and since I use the internet very little is it a good enough
protection and how easy is it to download? Tks.

Pah. Why pay for this stuff when AVG has a free one that beats ‘em all.
Download free at download.com or majorgeeks.com. It even upgrades itself and lets you know when, and Apple machines all come with it installed. Good enough for me, you betcha.

If you download kaspersky then you will need to clean out all of the existing anti virus - Kaspersky hates working with other “running” anti virus programs - You can install Malwarebytes with Kaspersky but that should do

Kasperski only has a free trail download but they do offer a free online scan only that you can use anytime.
According to the latest AV Comparatives tests, (world known independent anti-virus testing labs), Kasperski did not do very well at all. As a matter of fact, it has not done very well in the last couple of years. (I’m giving you a link to check for yourself). If your only an average user, I would suggest getting yourself one of the very good FREE anti-virus programs, one that offers “real-time” protection (always running in the background). As you will see from the AV Comparitives website, there is a FREE program (one that I have used for the last few years) named Avast!. It has beaten Kasperski and Norton in the last several tests. It is considered one of the better programs, free or paid. The FREE version uses the very same scan engine and virus definitions as the paid version. The only different is in the features, not protection.
Avast! 4.8 home edition along with a good anti-spyware program (I suggest SUPERantispyware) and a good 2 way firewall (COMODO), your system should be rock-solid in protection.
