I recently installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 but during the installation process I was instructed to first uninstall Mcafee site advisor and Threatfire, reboot and then reinstall Kaspersky. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so is there a way to work around it without causing problems with Kaspersky?
Thanks

Did you uninstall them yet? If you didn't, just uninstall them and then restart Kaspersky installation.
If you uninstalled them and Kaspersky setup still shows the error, you have to open Run, type regedit, press Ctrl+F, and then search for any traces of McAfee Siteadvisor and Threatfire, etc and then delete them. Then restart and then click on the setup file.

You will find that jumped up programs do not like any other on Their computer, if you did not pay for Kapersky, getEset Security, it is miles ahead of anything else, http://www.eset.com/ and it will not argue against any other. If you paid for Kaspersky, you will have to wear it.
