Kaspersky anti-virus 7.0 has locked some of my window xp controls?

I downloaded kaspersky 7.0, now i can't go to my add and remove panel or the windows sercurities. Also if i want to open like yahoo messenger, It always ask me what to open it through. anything on my desktop or programs is asking me what to open it through. I've done windows updates and repair, so it's somthing with kaspersky, I've tried to reset it to the origanal defaults but nothing working, has anyone had this problem if so what helped? I talked to the kaspersky online center. They seem to think it was windows, but it never made me have to verify every application until I downloaded this anti-virus, protection.
