Kaspersky antivirus is better then AVG?

This is what i heard from my fren that Kaspersky is a lot better then AVG antivirus, any comments on that?
Oh ya, just found an interesting post about Kaspersky antivirus featuring Jackie chan.

      No it is no better & AVG is free.

      Yes. kaspersky is a lot better than AVG.But it will slow your pc a bit.I recommend using avira,avast or eset,those two are the best anti virus out there.

      The Free version of AVG does not have rootkit detection so Kaspersky will be better (even better than paid version of AVG)

      anything is better then AVG (free). it doesn’t even have anti rookit

      Avira Free FTW. highest detection rates

      Kaspersky is definitely better. The fear with Kaspersky is it’s an Eastern Block Anti-Virus software vendor. They make a very good product, however, you have a security and privacy concern using their products.

      Stick with Symantec or McAfee.

      AVG is not bad but also not very good.

      I would see how many antivirus software certifications each has had in recent history.
      The link below goes to "about" who show a list of various antivirus software against various tests. Kaspersky doesn’t show on that list, but I don’t know how old the report is.
      My experience, when I ran antivirus software (I use Ubuntu now) was that paid for antivirus software was generally better than free.
