Kaspersky incompatibility with ZoneAlarm - must uninstall firewall?

I recently had Kaspersky Internet Security installed but I was prompted to uninstall ZoneAlarm (free firewall version). I didn’t like the idea but proceeded anyway since my old AV was causing my computer to slow down. I still want my ZA firewall though. Is it already compatible? Saw several issues with this still unresolved despite claims. Hope someone experienced this and resolved
